November 10 Monday morning hot coffee efficiencyMonday mornings are like day and night. Some are "By the gods, why do I have to get up now..." while other are "Whey! Time to hit the shower and get to work".
Today was the latter which is a lot more enjoyable than the former.
After hitting the workbench at 6:30 (AM mind you) with a cup of hot coffee next to the keyboard the minutes turned to hours. And now, some 5 hours later, I'm all out of stuff to do.
Being out of stuff to do at work, and knowing that you are obligated to stay at the office for another 3 hours is murder. I hate to go on and surf the web for the next hours without anything constructive to do. It's agonizing! But atleast it gives me some time to update my blog with more mindless nonesence. *laughs*
This weekend was somewhere between completely uneventful and the purest definition of the biggest advantage of being a single man in the world.
Friday afternoon my so-called sofa marathon started. All stocked up with beer, pizza and other junk food. Movies good to go, Little Big Planet newly purchased in one hand, the PS3 controller in the other and a good friend on the other half of the sofa.
6 pints of beer each later and roughly the same amount of hours, we both concluded Little Big Planet to be one of the greatest gifts to the PS3 console since it's birth some 2 or 3 years ago.
During our 6 hour long marathon we hooked up with another collegue from work who was just as far down the pint lane as us. Since either of us own a microphone, a cellphone conference solved out communications issue and we blasted trough several levels which we aced and got 100% on. Great fun! After we fell into the same pit, giggleing like little school girls it was clear that this game would be one worth picking up at any odd hour of the day to just play for as short or as long as one would like.
Great fun!
In other news, I've completed the story of Fable 2. I played Fable (1) to death on my computer, and had high expectations of the sequel. I for one think the team behind the game did quite a good job. I'm not too sure if I like the angle they've put on the game, but the graphics and playability is something I've longed for since I finished Fable 1. I'm now on my 3rd hero. I screwed up too much on the previous two, and this one is going to be perfect. Angelic kindness and purety, loaded with gold and white dyed gear it is still enjoyable to play trough the quests leading up to the final chapters of the game. Sure, there are fewer surprises, but they still show up once in a while...
So the summary of my weekend is me and a friend sloth-ing on the couch, drinking beer, playing video games and watching movies. A perfect batchelor weekend!
I wish you all an excellent week, be it at work or wherever you are!
Cheers
-C November 04 Windows 7, and the ongoing battle between Goliath and DavidAfter watching the PDC 2008 feed from the http://channel9.msdn.com/pdc2008/KNY02/ site, I feel that, yes! They are learning and moving stuff in the correct direction!
A lot of the features announced with Windows 7 and Microsofts continued focus on integrating all your devices into one Mesh is absolutely incredible! The technology is already available, although in its early infancy, but I can remote control my personal computer from work and vice versa, sync my files and documents between all the devices I'd like that is in the Mesh. And the best thing about it: It's free!
I've recently been concidering to get rid of my stationary computer and get a MacBook Pro, but after watching the presentation and demoes from PDC2008, I must say. The desire to take a trip across the pond to the competitor is a thought of the past. Good riddance!
So, all I do now is wait for our residentary consultant from Microsoft return from south europe so he can help me get into the Windows 7 beta program. Can't wait!
Have an excellent day!
-C Some kind of start...So I guess this is how the whole blogging addiction start.
A few lines of text. So seemingly innocent, so... Unimportant.
But suddenly! Someone hit's the comment button!
Probably just to say "hello!", "Your spelling sucks! Get a spellchecker!" or "How you doi'n!?", but that's when it hit the blogger...
"Hey! People accually read this crap! I got to find some kind of radical theme to blog about! I need more attention! I want mooore!".
Hopefully, this will not be one of those blogs! Here I will share whatever I'd like to share, but not really for the sake of fame or an attemt of reaching Internet Godhood, but more to vent on whatever idea(s) is buzzing around inside of the maze I call a brain.
So without further adoo, I'd like to welcome you to the beginning of my blog and hopefully not the birth of another pop-blogger.
Cheers!
